Persistent rains and thunderstorms continue to invade Southern Utah and Zion National Park. Flash flooding remains a threat as Pacific storms migrate from Southern California. Which of course can provide some dramatic photos.

I recently showcased fall images from The North Rim area of The Grand Canyon in Northern Arizona. The highlands of Southern Utah have been putting on its own fashion show this past week. This area is above the redrock country most associated with Southern Utah, reaching some 7,000 to 10,000 feet in elevation. These beautiful sub-alpine forests contain awesome Aspen tree groves that provide most of the color in these mountains. Stay tuned as the autumn colors migrate to lower elevations in the next month, including in and around Zion National Park.

Today is the first day of autumn, a great time for photography, especially here in Southern Utah and Northern Arizona. I conduct personal one-on-one instruction and will get you to those spots to capture images such as below. Colors peak towards the end of October and into the first few weeks of November.
