Made my way up Zion Canyon on Friday hoping for peak fall colors. I was not disappointed. Cottonwoods, Big-tooth Maples and Scrub Oaks provided most of the color.

For sunset images, don’t always shoot towards the sun. But look to the opposite direction to see how the light varies. You’ll see the light change from white to yellow, from yellow to orange and then orange to red just before the sun sets.

A rather significant rainstorm invaded Zion National Park yesterday, driving away visitors but presenting some fine photo ops!

That is on the East Side of the park. The colors tend to pop more on a cloudy and rainy day.

Morning Light…
The light from a rising sun peeked through the random cloud formations at Zion National Park yesterday morning. The filtered light helped to produce a soft but beautiful landscape.
