The North Rim of The Grand Canyon and surrounding Kaibab National Forest yielded some intense fall colors this past week. The aspens were on fire at around the 9,ooo foot altitude.

What a beautiful photoset – autumn is here at last and you have captured it so perfectly 🙂
Thank you for the nice comment!
Beautiful photos. I’m disappointed that I didn’t make it to see fall leaves this year.
Oh my gosh, sooooooo beautiful!
Lindy
Thanks Lindy!
Wow, that has been a color explosion! Beautiful!
I caught it at the right week
Wow, your photos are so beautiful, Michael. I can just get lost in them. I think my favorite is the puffy dots of aspen in #2. 🙂
I like that one too Eliza. The pine trees provide a good background for the aspens
What a tease to put the road picture last. Was that on the way or going home? In any case, it gave me wanderlust as your photos so often do.
Thanks Susanne. i was going home when I shot that last pic right through the front window of my vehicle. Of course I had stopped. Not many people take that road
Of this series, it’s the photos with the roads that I’m drawn to. I like the fact that they’re not well-traveled, too. Very Robert Frost.
