At the aerial video view of the fresh snow at the Kaibab National Forest in Northern Arizona. The Kaibab is adjacent to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. This access closed Sunday for the winter season so I was happy to get over there this past week. Watch in HiDef at Full Screen.
As the monsoon season begins to wind down, I was able to capture some lightning shots.

I waited in my vehicle as a passing rainstorm passed through Imperial Point at Grand Canyon National Park. I suspected a rainbow would appear shortly after and sure enough, one of the most brilliant rainbows I have ever experienced presented itself. Watch video at HiDef and Fullscreen.
This bushy deciduous tree grows above the rim at Grand Canyon National Park. In late June, it blooms a white pinkish flower that is ubiquitous this year. The video shows how the roads near the North Rim are lined with these plants. Google Search
This succulent grows in the wild here at Grand Canyon National Park and what is unusual is that this agave is near its demise. This Utahensis Agave flowers once, and then it dies. At around 10 or 20 years old, it will produce a single and fast-growing 10-foot flower stalk just before it dies. All images produced by author.
Located in Northern Arizona, adjacent to the North Rim at Grand Canyon National Park, the Kaibab is on a plateau at elevations from 7,500 feet to 9,000. The Ponderosa Pines provide much needed shade and refuge from the 100 degree temperatures now making an appearance in Southern Utah.
