The Pristine Kaibab National Forest
You may remember the video post showing the fire damaged area of Kaibab National Forest from summer of 2025, Link . Here’s a flyover video from last week showing the area not damaged. The western part of the North Kaibab which is adjacent to Grand Canyon National Park.

Even though Kaibab NF sustained heavy damage from last years fires, there still is some life.
Lupine Wildflower- Now Appearing Daily
This wildflower is known for its blue color but I like the leaves of the plant. They show an abstract form that changes shape and color throughout the summer. The word lupine means flower as a noun and “like a wolf” as an adjective.
Marble Cayon
It precedes the Grand Canyon in Northern Arizona and is also magnificent.

Fall Colors Without Leaves?
I caught the remnants of the fall colors at Kaibab National Forest in Northern Arizona. The Aspens were pretty much leafless as a recent storm with lots of rain and high winds caused this.

After Effects Of The Dragon Bravo Fire
This forest fire took place this past summer and destroyed the Grand Canyon Lodge. This footage from this week, is from the adjacent Kaibab National Forest where I would escape 4-5 times every summer to beat the Southern Utah heat. The visit was emotional, camping won’t be the same. I would relax and listen to Science Friday every Friday from a nearby radio station.
Many thanks to the brave men and women who fought this fire for months. The cleanup is ongoing.

Back To The Future
A drive through. the Kaibab National Forest and North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park reveals new growth Aspen trees, old growth and recently fire-damaged in the park. The young Aspens at beginning of video grew after a fire there some 20 years ago. Lots of the old growth were not damaged but the Aspens inside the park were heavily damaged along with pines. The Aspens should start to bounce back in a few years and eventually look like the young Aspens at the start of this video in about 20 years.
A shout out to all those firefighters that fought to contain the devastating fire which also claimed the 100 year old Grand Canyon Lodge.
