I was amazed by the brilliant falls colors at Zion last week, but I also noticed some hidden areas in Zion Canyon that I really never observed before. We all take photos of those wide open panoramas but if you take your telephoto lens and zoom in on specific targets, its amazing what you can capture. And a few pics are of familiar spots but from new vantage points in the park.

You’ll get me with pics like this everytime. I have always wanted to visit that place.
You captured some great images. Well done 🙂

Fantastic photos. Can you give some more details about the photos such as the camera, lens, settings?

I use a Canon 5D Mark III, with either a Canon 24-105mm 4.0L lens and a Canon 100-400mm 4.5 telephoto lens. I also use a Sigma 12-24mm wide angle lens. I always shoot with a tripod so I can shoot at 100 ISO and a fstop between 14 and 22 to maximize depth of field . I always shoot in camera raw and bracket with 3 exposures.

Thanks Cornelia. Yes, I live about a mile from the entrance to Zion,(No excuse to not get good photos) and about 2 hours from Bryce and 2 1/2 from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. It is a special area
