At this time of year, you can enjoy the Milky Way without having to stay up till 2 a.m. I started shooting these images around 10:30 p.m. Went to about midnight after waiting some for couds to dissipate. Just find a dark place like Zion National Park, which is designated as a Dark Sky Park!
The Milky Way appears over The Watchman at Zion National Park, Utah
The Milky Way is appearing in the night sky here this week at Zion National Park, Utah. It’s a celestial feast that can be observed in the southern sky after 11pm. The Milky Way will move across the southern sky from east to west.
Still photos from last week’s big rainbow at Zion National Park, Utah. I looked out my bedroom window and noticed dark stormy clouds to the northeast and sunny skies to the west. Ripe conditions for a rainbow. But I had to wait patiently until the rainbow manifested as the setting sun was obscured by clouds. I almost gave up. But then the clouds parted and shafts of light shined on the remaining rain clouds.
