Watch Rain Shower Appear and Disappear
Monsoonal moisture over the Grand Canyon produced much needed rain this week but watch as a cloud produces a rain shower and watch as that rain disappears.. Hot dry air from the depths of the Grand Canyon is probably responsible for the dissolution of the rain. I thought for sure I was going to be rained on. Watch in HiDef at Full Screen.

You may have remembered my shots from Point Imperial at The Grand Canyon where layers of fog were rising from the canyon depths. See Foggy Point Imperial. This time I was there for sunset and the light did not disappoint.
Monsoonal Moisture In Northern Arizona
I love the monsoon season in Northern Arizona. From July to early September, dramatic skies form above the parched desert landscape. The rains provide some relief from the scorching 100 degree(F) temperatures. Rainbows, large puffy clouds, violent storm cells and electricity filled up the Arizona Sky.
Lightning Bolts and A Full Moon Rising
Within minutes, I was able to capture lightning bolts from an incredible storm passing through the Northern Arizona night and the full and very orange moon rising.
