It all happened last Sunday as I conducted a photography workshop at Sequoia National Park and Kyle proposed to Stephany (the 2 workshop participants). I had been to Sequoia 9 years ago on Easter Sunday and snowshoed in 2 feet of snow. There was no snow this past Sunday. It is very apparent that California is experiencing a severe drought. Below are pics from Sequoia and one of the newly engaged. More photos from my trip out to the spectacular California Coastline to follow soon.
Wow! Love the majestic tree shots and the glorious sunset. No one takes photos of National Parks like you do, Michael.

Sequoias are like gods to me – so majestic. Your photos show their size well, hard to capture sometimes. A fitting place for a marriage proposal. 🙂 However, seeing the mountains without snow at this time of year is rather disturbing. My son, who lives in Truckee, told me it looks like June, he wasn’t exaggerating. I read that they are gearing up for a hellacious fire season in the coming months. It’s hard not to be scared. 😦

Thanks Eliza. There was a fire at Sequoia last Saturday in the dry foothills. Luckily they were on top of it quickly and it only burnt 20 acres. Hopefully not a sign of things to come

A fantastic shoot all around. Beautiful images and what a romantic spot for a proposal.

Thanks Jane. Kyle told me beforehand that he was going to propose so I video taped it as well.
