Acadia is a national park with somewhat undefined boundaries. It borders Bar Harbor, the Atlantic Ocean and a few other small communities. I wasn’t sure when I was in the park or outside of it. One thing I did know was that fall colors were lingering in the area.
The California Coastline is beautiful no matter how you photograph it.
Implementing longer exposures with your camera can get you to a different level with your photography. It’s fun, creative and heavenly but you’ll need a tripod and a filter or two.
Can’t get to the ocean anytime soon? Well, I’ve brought the Pacific Ocean to you. The sights and sounds are truly mesmerizing.

They were all photographed last week along California’s Central Coast. I was thrilled to see the Condors as they hovered along the steep cliffs just south of Big Sur. The Zebras were grazing at Hearst Ranch near San Simeon and the Elephant Seals were chillin just a bit north of San Simeon.

Most of these were tagged. This one is number 70. As you probably know, Condors are on the Endangered Species List. There are approximately 425 left in the world although at one time there were only 27. Conservation efforts by Ventana Wildlife Society amongst other groups made these images possible. There are 75 along the Big Sur Coastline.
I was talking to an old friend of mine from Los Angeles the other day which brought back some photographic memories from living there 9 years ago. I shot all of these images, most of which were at least 10 years ago. First of two posts.

Along California’s central coast, Moro Bay is a home for one nice marina and one large ubiquitous rock.
You don’t necessarily need the sun in your image to produce good sunset shots. It’s the soft light from the sun shining on nearby objects that can result in a memorable image.
