A partial rainbow appears amongst the sheets of rain along The North Rim of the Grand Canyon.
Monsoon season has begun with full force at Marble Canyon which is in Grand Canyon National Park and precedes The Grand Canyon. These images were shot from above in the Kaibab National Forest, Arizona at a cool elevation of about 9,000 feet.

Caught this rainbow dancing along the desert floor near Marble Canyon at Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona. It played with the monsoonal clouds passing through to provide some abstract images. Tremendous monsoonal thunderstorms ravaged Zion National Park today, closing the main road thru the park due to rock slides. But as with any storm, the aftermath can be delightful.
The streets of nearby Springdale were covered with mud.
Menacing clouds approached later in the night.
Monsoonal moisture over the Grand Canyon produced much needed rain this week but watch as a cloud produces a rain shower and watch as that rain disappears.. Hot dry air from the depths of the Grand Canyon is probably responsible for the dissolution of the rain. I thought for sure I was going to be rained on. Watch in HiDef at Full Screen.
