Lake Powell has more shoreline than the United States’ entire Pacific Ocean Coastline. Approximately 2,200 miles of it. Pictured here are only a few miles of it but it’s pretty cool. The lake’s water level changes throughout the year as its primary source, the Colorado River, provides more water via snow melt in the Rockies.
Pics from the North Rim at Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
Per request by a fellow blogger, I’ve presented the Best of 2014 so you can watch at your own speed. I’ve also added some pics. You can purchase these images as prints that I print myself (Low Cost) at Dawn2Dawn Photography Each print is signed and numbered.
Yellow Rock at The Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument in Southern Utah is yellow but also red, magenta, gold, orange, lime, blue, purple, rust, maroon, amber, tangerine, pink, scarlet, black, azure, brass, bronze, rose, brown, plum, sepia, mustard, sapphire, turquoise, peach, myrtle and even zucchini!
Yellow Rock is difficult to find and very difficult to hike up to. It’s the best thing Bill Clinton ever accomplished as president, designating the almost 2 million acres of the Grand Staircase as protected under the Antiquities Act in 1996. President Obama, before he leaves office, should do the same with the Greater Canyonlands area near Moab, Utah.
