The Aspen tree forests of Southern Utah are starting to really pop this week so of course I had to take a look. This time from above like a bird. This area has some of the thickest stands of Aspens and this year the oranges and reds were intense. There was still some green too so these colors will be changing for awhile. Autumn has decided to stick around a bit this year in Southern Utah. Two weeks ago these maple trees in Zion were mostly green. In years past, the colors would have been at peak. But patience and another trip up Zion Canyon enabled me to get these shots.

Elevation makes a difference when searching for autumn colors. These images were taken at about 7,000 feet in elevation. The colors are probably gone today since we had a snowstorm bust through this area over the weekend.
