The Sobering Moki Dugway

The Moki Dugway is a road in Southern Utah that shouldn’t be driven even if you’re just a bit under the influence. It’s mostly dirt and gravel with no guard rails and narrows in some places. I didn’t drive it up very far. That’s what a drone is for.

  1. Really cool to see it from above like that. A few years ago we did something ill-advised. We towed our little travel trailer up the Moki Dugway. It was sufficiently frightening that I wrote a post about it. My photos and video can’t match yours, but I thought you might like to check it out. Or not. As we teachers always say when we send lesson plan ideas to each other: Use or lose. 🙂

    1. Great post. I worked as a park ranger at Zion for 8 years and we wouldn’t let a 50 foot trailer go through the park. Tight switchbacks and narrow tunnel. I was surprised that the sign at the bottom of Moki Dugway said RVs not recommended. Probably should be prohibited if a certain size.
