Sunrise On the Pacific

Normally we photograph the setting sun, not rising sun on the Pacific Ocean. But, I woke up around 5am and decided to check it out. In the winter, the sun actually rises more from the Southeast, not East. So I was able to get a vantage point where the color from the sun would be in the frame along with the crashing waves on the beach. With just enough clouds to give the images some depth, it was a glorious sunrise even though I got a soaking from the waves. These images plus more are available for purchase as prints or a downloadable, printable files @ Dawn2Dawn Photography’s Website

    1. Thanks! The colors tend to change quickly at sunrise and sunset. As the the sun comes up, the reds turn into orange and yellows so you have to shoot quickly and underexpose a bit. The faster shutter speed will produce richer colors.
