I had to go to the upper elevations of Zion National Park to capture these scenes. It was 29 degrees when I took these shots but it was 44 in the main section of Zion where it had rained. Glad I made the 20 mile trip! You can purchase prints from this post and others at Dawn2Dawn Galleries
Nighttime shots from Zion National Park and adjacent Springdale, Utah, There was a near full moon that night which lended some additional ambient light.
You don’t have to have the sun in the photo to get good sunset images. The light from the setting sun provides some vibrant colors.

The upper elevations receive more snow than the main canyon at Zion, so naturally, I had to check it out. Looked more like the Sierras in California.
Much needed rain made its way through Zion Country and produced some good photo ops just before sunset. Rainbow pics to follow soon!
