No, you’re not seeing images from my recent voyage to Mars (There is a Mars Research Station nearby).
These are the mostly abstract scenes around Factory Butte which is a ubiquitous landform in the area.

I’ve probably driven near this spot 30 times over the last 15 years but didn’t know about this hidden gem. The road is a bit rough getting there but the drive is well worth it.
