Blue Mesa Reservoir at Curecanti NRA can produce some great reflections when the waters are silky smooth, mostly during the morning. The afternoon winds are problematic.


I wasn’t quite expecting the brilliant colors I encountered at Kolob Reservoir yesterday. I really caught the aspens at peak, peak color!. Kolob Reservoir is about 35 miles from Zion National Park in Southern Utah and at an elevation of some 8,000 feet.


Lake Powell is on the border of Utah and Arizona. Formed by the construction of the Glen Canyon Dam, it has more shoreline than our Pacific Coastline. You might recognize in some of the photos, how the waterline has been dropping because of the drought in the area. I was there to capture the full moon rising.
