Images From A Snowy Grand Canyon

Here’s some images captured once the fog lifted in the Grand Canyon after a snowy day.

Snowy Grand Canyon

That huge California storm is making it’s way through Arizona now. You’ll notice that because of temperatures at the Grand Canyon, the snow level dips about 1,000 feet into the canyon. Below that, it rained. Nonetheless, there was plenty of snow at  the South and North Rims and it’s still snowing with road closures.

Nearby Flagstaff is receiving a foot or two and hopefully I can get out of here soon. As I’m developing this post, it’s snowing hard with no visibilty into the canyon. But it’s not a bad place to be stranded!

Watch at HiDef at Full Screen.  Companion post of still images to follow soon.
