At the aerial video view of the fresh snow at the Kaibab National Forest in Northern Arizona. The Kaibab is adjacent to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. This access closed Sunday for the winter season so I was happy to get over there this past week. Watch in HiDef at Full Screen.
Snow is very ephemeral here in the Southwest so you better get out and capture it or the snow will be gone by noon. Even though I had a 2 hour drive to get to the Kaibab National Forest, the temperatures were still in the mid 20s when I arrived around 9 a.m. I believe I had the whole place to myself except for the 2 snowplows.
I got lost in space last week but made it safely back to Earth…….
Cottonwood Trees thrive near rivers and lakes because they absorb lots of water. If we have normal rainfall that year, we’ll see lots ofCottonwoods in full color during autumn . Here I captured the colors via drone. Watch in HiDef at Full Screen. Music is aptly named “Fly Me Away” by Goldfrapp.
