Nature Is Amazing

When I was a Park Ranger at Zion National Park, a visitor asked me if Checkerboard Mesa was man made. (Checkerboard Mesa is an amazing sandstone rock formation in Zion) I told him only the roads and buildings were man made. For him to think this got me thinking that Nature Is Amazing! Man can make just about anything anymore but the fact that nature made Checkerboard Mesa IS AMAZING. It just took millions of years.

I’d like to ask that person if he thinks the following rock formations were man made. These clay bed formations get their color and patterns when minerals seep through this somewhat porous layer of clay beds.

  11. I have no doubt! Nature is amazing and it always surprise me with all it’s magic. The scenery is fantastic. How beautiful the world is.
