Colorado’s Amazing Lizard Head Pass

It’s just south of the ski resort town of Telluride but in October it was full of snow and autumn colors.

This spot at Trout Lake calls out for a panorama shot. This was 3 images stitched together.

Fall colors surround the former mining town of Rico, just south of Lizard Head Pass.

  1. Beautiful photos. Looks like there are more open storefronts in Rico than when I stayed there. I used to cross country ski for miles next the river that runs on the West side of the town. I skied around Trout Lake, too. I’m glad you got to check it all out.

      1. There is a steep hill to go down and then you turn south and ski. It’s so quiet. I don’t know if I ever made it down the hill without landing on my butt.
