Lee’s Ferry in Northern Arizona, is known as a launching point for Colorado River rafters and other interesting rock formations. Vermilion Cliffs National Monument and the California Condor are nearby. Lee’s Ferry is the only place to access the Colorado River by vehicle for hundreds of miles. It’s named after John Doyle Lee, a Mormon Pioneer, who was later convicted and executed for his part in the infamous Mountain Meadows Massacre in Utah in 1877.
Funky rocks are the highlight at Cliff Dwellers, adjacent to Lee’s Ferry. Â
