Paw Hole is an area at South Coyote Buttes that is part of Vermilion Cliffs National Monument, Arizona. Its unusual sandstone rock formations are a photographer’s playland.

I don’t know what happened in Utah millions of years ago, but it must have been scary as hell at the time.
Your photos are amazingly beautiful! South Coyote Buttes is on my list for when I travel to Southern Utah again.
Such amazing formations, which remind me somehow of an area in Turkey, called Kappadokia
The layers, lines and textures are really interesting. Amazing monuments!
Less than an hour NE of Las Vegas is Valley of Fire that has rock formations called Beehives. They look a lot like Paw Hole.
I really believe that these images are better than being there… It should be on NG travel series. Thank you so much, Michael!
Reminds me of the Bungle Bungles in Australia….. https://keyimagephotographers.wordpress.com/2016/02/18/are-you-thinking-like-an-ant/
Yes it does!
Those formations are incredible, Michael! Wonderful shots– the colors, lines and shapes are fascinating.
Thanks jane
Great shots of an interesting place! I love sandstone formations. The best I can find in Big Bend are the so-called hoodoos. These are quite enjoyable.
