Highway 46 starts in California’s fertile San Joaquin Valley and ends just south of Cambria on the Pacific Ocean Coastline. It is somewhat famous for being the road that James Dean reached a dead end with his Porsche in 1955. There is a James Dean Memorial Junction at the intersection of Hwy 46 and 41. But the route also contains some of the best farmland this country has to offer including nut trees, citrus, and vineyards at Paso Robles.

Love the puffy clouds. Too bad they didn’t have rain in them!
There’s a lotta grapevines out there making cool patterns on the hills. Did you visit any wineries?
