Hi Suzanne. I don’t carry all this on the trail but do bring all of this gear in my vehicle. I do need room for food!

Whew. Glad to hear you bring food. It took me years to convince my husband that food was required even on relatively short 1/2 day hikes. A happy stomach makes for a happy hiker.

I don’t bring all of this on a hike but I choose which items I will need and fill up a small backpack that also includes food, extra clothes and a first aid kit.
