Off The Well-Beaten Path.

I showed you images from the iconic Narrows hike at Zion yesterday, but these images are from a small and remote slot canyon called Red Canyon outside the park. My friend Scott brought his adorable 6 -year old daughter along and she couldn’t get enough.

Dead End. It does go further but you need ropes and harnesses to negotiate the rest

We almost got really dirty as a rock slide happened just after we exited the canyon. A family had gone into the canyon
just before the rock slide so we went back in to make sure they were OK which they were, but frightened.

Thanks Eliza! That’s a pretty little canyon

What a magical little canyon. I love that she is out hiking in tennies and a dress. I’m grateful my Dad took me into nature via many venues. She’ll have fond memories of those times with her Dad.

We’ve taken her on 3-4 mile hikes and she was a real trooper.

I started my son hiking as soon as he could walk. He did an 8 mile downhill hike with a couple friends of mine and I, at Sabino Canyon in Tucson. He was 4. He’s not fond of hiking now 🙂

Well, at least you tried. I didn’t attend a national park until I was 20.

Fantastic scenery. Your little friend looks like she had a wonderful time exploring.
