Marble Canyon

Marble Canyon in Northern Arizona, precedes the Grand Canyon but is just as grand.  Named by John Wesley Powell because he thought the limestone in the canyon walls resembled marble. Marble Canyon begins at Lees Ferry, a launching point for river rafters, and ends at the confluence of the Little Colorado River and Colorado River.

Thank you Michael. I crossed the Navaho bridge a month ago; was hoping to get to Tatahaso Pt but only got to Horseshoe bend. Great shots and inspiration for my next trip

God, what the grand canyon is superb
… if only I could afford to cross the Atlantic to come see them with my own eyes …

Beautiful! I imagine this is a great place to for solitude, unlike the Grand Canyon.

There were just a few people in this area so quiet and solitude was acheived
