Saguaro National Park on either side of Tuscon, Arizona, is home to the Saguaro Cactus. Growing up to 40 feet tall, these plants are native to the Sonoran Desert. Other succulents and plants in the park include the Teddy Bear Cholla, Barrel Cactus, Hedgehog Cactus, Prickly Pear Cactus and the Ocotillo.
Kinda looks like a balloon you can twist into all kinds of unusual shapes.
The prickly spines on the cactus ward off animals looking for a happy meal!

Great photos. I love that place. I lived there and hiked in all 4 directions, sometimes 7 days a week, 2 times a day.
I was back there in 2013, did a ton of hiking again and still find Saguaro National Park , east and west, so magical…especially the westside.
I need to get back there soon…
I found this great website that led me to so many great hikes….short, longer, flat, harder. I explored those as well as my favorite, upper tanque Verde falls.
