Shame On These Two People

The signs here at Point Lobos State Natural Reserve are very obvious. DO NOT go on this trail. The reason as you can see, is that Harbor Seals and Sea Lions are breeding down at the end of this trail and shouldn’t be disturbed. The two idiots disregarded the signs and thought the rules didn’t apply to them. I have a close up picture of the two and decided to give them a break by not showing, unless you guys think otherwise.

Ooh, so so tempting to send copies to the park rangers…. Let me guess, young and stupid, right? Did you say anything to them?

I asked them if they read English because they could be foreigners, they said yes. I told them I was going to post these pictures on the internet for all to see.

        How did they respond?

        They mumbled something

Well, perhaps they will think twice next time before crossing a barrier.

That’s basically what I was hoping, that they would think about it.

‘Us, who us? Oh signs don’t apply to us’. I’d like to think a kick up the backside did belong to them.

I should have thought of that. Those signs say its a crime to interfere with the wildlife.

Well, I have done my share of hiking where I wasn’t supposed to and camping where it was prohibited but just disobeying arbitrary rules, not ones clearly stating the endangerment of an animal or area. It is sad that many disregard the well being of animals. I have seen in the news of the people who took so many selfies of themselves and baby dolphins beached, that the dolphins died, and some of the photos were even bordering on the obscene. Of course I don’t understand hunting big game either, animals that won’t be eaten for food but just to poise in front of and perhaps stuff and stick on a wall.

I agree with everything you said Katelon

What a couple of jackholes. Rules don’t apply to them, only to everyone else. Thanks for posting, although I’m not sure they care about shaming.

I would have taken the close-ups to the park rangers. Several years ago I reported (including a photo of their vehicle and license plates) some folks who had entered a closed area and were illegally cutting firewood. They were prosecuted and fined for it.

That was really cool of you. I should have phoned the office at that instant because it is a crime to do what they did.
