There was a high surf and the waves were crashing upon these rocks at the right time to get maximum height.

Thanks Jane. These were taken at Point Lobos in Carmel. The two people in those photos were not suppose to be down there as that trail was closed because seals were breeding down there. I’m not sure how they even got around the barriers the park set out.

Wow, that second shot is especially amazing, more so for having a human for scale. Makes one really see how enormous they were. 🙂
