Death Valley Is Anything But Dead

Had to go to Death Valley National Park to check out the Super Bloom. I’ve been going to Death Valley for about 10 years and have never experienced this amount of flowers and people.  I captured the floral display starting a few hours before sunset. The predominate flower south of Furnace Creek is the Desert Gold Sunflower or as I like to call it, Geraea Canescens.  Stay tuned for more pics from Eureka Dunes, fighter jets and the Pacific Coast.

Holy cow your pictures are gorgeous! We were just there 3 days ago and I was so happy we found the desert in bloom. We were fortunate enough to see the blooms in Australia after a rainy year. I can’t say which one was better. Thanks for visiting my blog. Keep up that great photography!

Thanks for showing it to us. It is indeed very different from our two visits – one in the heat of August and one in better climate in October. I have read about the super bloom of this year but unfortunately won’t be able to go so it is great to see it through your photos. (Suzanne)
