Multi Tasking

Driving and taking pictures is a skill you better have been born with. It’s not something you want to learn on the job. Very dangerous. I believe I was born with the skill or that I get bored when driving through the countryside. You can get creative by using a slow shutter speed while your vehicle is moving. You can also try this as a passenger. Preferable.

…you better have been born with it, I agree. Great road shots. Slow SS shooting from the front window (?)
I try when I’m on the passenger seat.

Thanks Amy. My brother suggests I mount the camera to the front windshield. Probably a good idea.

Beautiful collection. I do this as well but always as a passenger. On road when there isn’t much traffic, my husband (the driver) will often slow down or even stop so I can take the picture without too much movement from the car.

Thanks. I make sure its a road less traveled and i slow down if no one is behind.

Like texting and driving, it is frowned upon! However, as you point out, if you have the open road to yourself, you’re not threatening anyone else’s safety. That said, I found these compelling. 🙂 I’ve taken shots like these in CA (perhaps where these were taken) because the roads rise and fall and curve in interesting ways, particularly along the coast. The sky in the first one makes it look like a collage.

These were shot near Paso Robles which is wine country, about a 1/2 hour drive from the coast. Not many people drive on this road. I like the way the road curves and winds through the countryside.

Put that camera down and your hands on the wheel!! However, I loved the shots. They looked like paintings to me.
