Time Lapse Video of Stormy California Coast

I was just south of Carmel, California on Friday when a winter storm passed through producing some awesome surf. I had never seen waves as tall as these 20 to 25 footers.  Still photos to follow although here is one below. The photos or video don’t quite capture the immensity of the swells.

When I lived north of Eureka, I’d crawl up big rocks in the ocean, sitting there just to feel the intense waves crashing on the rocks.

    Beautiful photo.

Thanks Katelon. I spent all day Saturday in my camping chair overlooking the ocean and watching and listening to the force of the surf.

I live how much you travel.

Mesmerizing! Next best thing to being there. 🙂
(How did you keep the mist off your camera and lens?)

Yes, the sea spray was a problem. I continually had to wipe off a film from my lens and sunglasses. I carry of bunch of micro fiber cloths.
