Lovely pics. Where on the coast is this? I think I have a guess being there before
Thanks Cornelia. It is at the San Simeon area near Hearst Castle
Oh, I should have known. Have travelled that road unnumerous times.
Beautiful pictures
Thank You Hillechien
Stunning shots! Gorgeous creatures <3
My favourite is the last photo of the pelicans. There’s a wonderful sense of movement.
And they fly so close to you
Magnificent captures! Love Elephant Seal shots. 🙂
Thanks Amy. They do have some character
Wow, there are so many seals on that beach – bet it was noisy! I love the pelicans, esp. when standing on a bluff and they go by in formation at eye level. They make me think of pterodactyls!
I love the pelicans too as they fly real close. I was talking to someone when these flew right past me so I wasn’t so focused. Here’s a good website about the seals. http://www.elephantseal.org/
Thanks for the link, Michael, it was interesting to learn about the biology of ‘catastrophic molt’ and how the males follow the females/juveniles later in the season. Nature’s ways always fascinate me!
lovely pictures and is expressive too!
Thank you Ramjani
